A large proportion of these pensioners are in poor health. Imagine being in that situation. Cold, cannot move around easily, can’t go out, sitting there every day just watching the telly. Taken away the free Tv licence. Last month I went to the dentist, paid for a check up. Today an eye test, free test, but new spectacles £200. I’m lucky, I’m ok but I cry for those who will struggle. A better future. What future I’m 78 next month.

This government unsurprisingly are hypocrites. They cut the winter fuel allowance for 10 million pensioners, whose state pension is below the living wage. However, the MPs receive £1000s each year on their second homes. Shouldn't the MPs like Esther Mcvey lose their £3400 fuel allowance as they are not in receipt of benefit and do not need their fuel allowance? Labour are showing their true colours by giving wage rises to people such as the train drivers who could hardly be facing poverty this winter as they earn over £65,000 a year.
